Anywho, the big winner this week is......
My girl and yours, Miley! Cue the omg.lol.woots.
This girl went onto SNL and rocked it. She ushered herself into adulthood comically and gracefully. She made fun of herself, and all the other recent Hollywood n'er-do-wells. And she show-cased her voice and-yes!- she can sing live!
And it was very well-received- the reviews have been excellent across the media and blogosphere. This is a big opportunity for her to step out of the shadow of some of her more ill-conceived actions and make some more mature (mature-grownup, not mature-skanky) choices. And she looked so beautiful in her March Marie Claire spread/cover. I'm feeling very positive for Future Miley.
I guess the best term would be "cautiously optimistic." I mean, look what happened to Demi Lovato. Grown-up stint on Grey's Anatomy, prolonged stint in rehab. But she's out now, and hopefully on the path to bigger, better things as well.
All my tween faves are growing up. *tear*
