A Kardashian Girl in Dallas

Again, I've been a neglectful caretaker of the Belle of the Ballgame empire. So much has gone on in the sports world of late (the demise of my once hero JoePa, the triumphant return of Mike Leach to coaching, etc. etc.), and I've had nary a word to say on any of these blogworthy topics. And believe me, I do want to come back around to these stories, untimely though my unsolicited musings may be. But not now. Now is the time for some lighthearted sportslebrity talk.

Now, I tend to believe we are lucky enough to be living in the Golden Age of the Sportslebrity. From Dancing with the Stars to Hollywood hookups, and every wannabe Twitter aficionado in between, the sportslebrity is in its heyday. And I'm very excited that one of the first ladies of the sportslebrity world and her man will be making their way to our fair town!

That's right, as I'm sure you already know, Lamar Odom has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks, but I dare say the true windfall in all of this is the acquisition of Khloe Kardashian as a sometimes Texan! I mean, if you look at it, she truly is the best of the three sisters. Kim is the bratty, self-absorbed princess with three failed sportslebrity relationships, including a short-lived bid to become the most celebrated Kardashian in Big D (no Miles Austin for you). True, she is a successful businesswoman, but to whom the sportslebrity appeals, mogul status does not. And then there's Kortney, whose failures include a lack of general intelligence and her unfathomable pseudo-relationship with loser Scott Disick.

But Khloe is a girl I dare say we can all get behind. She's biting, sarcastic, outlandish, and flat out funny. In a weird way, she's the most grounded in reality in this out-of-touch family. And her superquick wedding to Lamar has turned out to be much more authentic than the 72-day-soon-to-never-have-existed wedding of her elder sister. Not to mention, how fun will it be to have cameras rolling around the metro- shopping at North Park, dinner at Wolfgang Puck's 360 restaurant in Reunion Tower- Dallas excess at it's finest!

Even Mavs Head Coach Rick Carlisle is pro-Klho, saying, “I will say this: Khloe’s my favorite Kardashian. “She’s the coolest.” A reigning world champion can't be wrong, right?

So people of Dallas, get on board! Khloe's coming to town, and bringing her madcap sportslebrity life with her. I, for one, will be on the lookout for Khloe sightings around so I can get a new pic to replace the Audrina Patridge as the ultimate reality run-in. Can't wait!
